What Would You Do?

Hi,

I have a Kioti LB2204 tractor. I have to replace the center link and the drag line.
Found the center link at Tractor Joe.
The drag link is no longer available and my tie rod ends on it are shot!
I can not find one anywhere online and I have checked with my 2 local dealers.
The Kioti part number is 84612-4397-0 or 84612-43970 or 84612-4397-1 or 84612-43971

Any thoughts or creative ideas would be appreciated.

Find some tie rod ends from a auto parts store that will fit the taper or even ream the holes to fit the new tie rod ends. Then you can buy the DOM tubing and threaded ends to fit the threads on the new tie rod ends. Cut the tube to length needed and weld on the new thread inserts.

Someone else on the forum ran into the same problem you have and that’s basically what he did

If you go the home rolled route, remember that normally one thread will be left handed and the other right (this will give you the finest adjustment). But considering this is a tractor and I doubt you will put it on an alignment machine, you can make both ends the same thread and use the same tie rod ends on both sides but you will have to drop one side to adjust it.

I took the drag link to an auto parts store and they looked at it
and said we have so many different tie rod ends they would have no
idea with out a part number where to even start.

I tried reaming a pitman arm once, that metal is tough.

But, if that's the only way to solve the problem I'll do what I have to do.

The drag link has fixed tie rode ends they are welded, but you gave me
an idea. If I can find a center link that is close I can move the tie rod ends
to fit the length I need and use it as a drag link.
