Yup, that's the best advice. I adjusted mine yesterday so that when I set them it won't move . . .at all. I figure that's the only way that I can keep myself from screwing up again.

I figure that's the only way that I can keep myself from screwing up again.)</font> Just one note of caution when doing this: Make sure you don't tighten so much that you are inadvertently causing the brakes to be in contact when not engaged. Read the brake specs for play in your owner's manual and adjust to their specs as it's easy to go too far and wear out the brakes when not engaged. John

Hi Jim,

I have them adjusted to the factory specs. My problem is that I have ligament damage in both of my knees and I just don't push hard enough on the pedal to actually lock the brakes. I just seem to get them tight enough so that the tractor won't move on it's own. It's my fault, not the tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
