I pull this 22' 1966 Airstream Safari all over the property. It's about 3,000 lbs.

I help the neighbor haul the hay wagons with my RTV900. We get 100 to 120 bales on each wagon and it's real easy positioning the wagons next to the elevator with the RTV. So, 120x55lbs=6600lbs plus the wagon.

Geesh, I've always respected the manufacturer's ratings for my RTV900 or my 4 wheelers. I think the limiting factor is more the tongue weight than the trailer weight.

IIRC, the RTV900 hitch is only rated for 130#. That is one disappointment I have with the RTV.

The tongue weight ratings are highly suspicious in my mind. For the RTV500 it's 110 lbs, with a maximum rolling weight of 1100 lbs. Good safety practice is to have a tongue weight that is a minimum of 10% of your rolling weight. So, if Kubota's ratings are to be believed, you have to load your maxed out trailer in such a manner as to put exactly 10% of its weight on your hitch. Good luck on that.

I call their tongue weight rating bogus. I think it's derived mathematically, not from testing or engineering studies.

Well on my one 4wheeler, the hitch is a bracket on the rear end gear box. I do NOT want to overstress that and crack it.

IDK if the ratings are over-conservative because they know people will double or triple the rating, or if they do have it calculated properly.

I think I pulled a "hammy" last night cutting wood. Does that count?

Sheesh, I thought I was doing pretty well with a 1400lb oak stick with skidding arch. The arch lifted most of it, but I did a few hundred yards in the woods before getting out on the road that had all 300cc's working pretty hard. It's an '01 KingQuad which is more tractor than quad anyways. I think the seat on my tractor has more suspension travel... Its hauled a few times its value in firewood and sawlogs without a hiccup so I can't complain at all, it gets it done, just at a relaxed pace!

I went to a horse pull for the first time last weekend. It was two horse teams pulling a skid of weight and a full pull is 27 feet. The big horses ended up pulling 10,750 pounds.

I think the type of trailers they were pulling do not have tongue weight (a hinged tongue). Still more weight than I would have thought possible.
