What\'s a 430?

Saw the neighbor yesterday with his relatively new JD 430.

Wonder what's the diff between this model and, say, a 4310? Think both are likely 30 hp.

Think I'll get a quicker answer here than groping my way through the JD web site. Easier to find models in the Kubota site.

I'm kinda leaning towards a 4010 myself.

A 430 is a mid size JD loader. You must of been looking at the loader arms and not the hood of the tractor when you saw this number (a common mistake). Take a look at the number on the hood it is probably a 4XXX series tractor.

Back in '89 when I bought my 318 garden tractor what I REALLY wanted was the 430 diesel. So whenever I see 430 as applied to a JD that model always comes to mind first, not the loader.....

The 430 is a large garden tractor, not really a CUT?. I don't think it has 30 HP. It does have power. I'm not sure but I think newer ones are 455s. It a good reliable machine. 4000 or the 4010 series all have four digits in their number.
The Japanese don't buy Kubota, I don't know why. They must send them all over here. Just joking. Good tractors

If it was a CUT with a loader you saw, then it is definately the 430 loader. I have a 4310 with a 430 loader on it, and when I was first shopping for it, I would commonly ask myself the same question you are. Then I realized I was looking at the loader number and not the tractor.

Anyway, I love my 4310/430 combo...

I'm pretty sure it's a 4310 with the 430 loader. He also has a rear blade.

In the summer he was trying out another tractor with a bushhog. He kept hitting lots of rocks with the hog. This one wasn't green.
