Can I post my own tractor here to get your opinion of its value? If not, let me know in which thread to ask..

Its a TN65, 2WD with about 2250 hours. It has the 8x8 shuttle and 3 hydraulic remotes. The rear tires are 16.9 x 24 R4. The previous owner used it as a scraper tractor in a dairy so there is some rust around the 3pt linkage, rims and underneath the rear fenders.
I'm selling it because I need something with a little bigger rear tires and I would like to upgrade to a cab. 4WD would be a added option that I wouldn't mind but I have gotten by without it so far. What do you think would be a fair price?

These are the only pictures I have right now.

Those rear tires are going to hurt its resale but new that tractor would have cost around $15-16k with R1's. Given its overall condition, hours and rear tires I would think somewhere around $10k but that is just a guess.

Do you do any work with your tractor besides haying? If not then stay with the 2wd and look for a nice cab model. 2wd keeps the cost down considerably on the used market.

So far, I have used the tractor for haying and no-till drilling. If the grass had even a little amount of dew on it, the tires would slip when pulling the 7' no-till drill on a incline. Another reason I need bigger tires is that the drawbar is about 4-5" to low for my bale wagon.

I don't know if any of you remember but I just bought this tractor last fall. After I put parts and everything into it. I am defiantly going to be losing some money on it...

Given that you bought it used less than a year ago, and given the current frenzy of inflated prices for just about anything, especially for used iron, you should easily be able to get whatever you paid for it, assuming you haven't put 3000 hours on it.

ads online are one thing and what they actually sell for are another...here are two isolated cases for you...(in arkansas)...I saw a bare 2wd tn65 1500 hr with hyrdraulics barely bring $9k at an auction earlier this spring (and was in real good condtion...yes that is an auction so maybe add a little to it (gets to the $10k as earlier posted)

saw recently in statewide paper tn65 with 1100+ hrs for $9k...for some reason I hesitated (three hours away)..and I need a loader...it ran for about three weeks and I called back and they had just sold it for 7500...(it may not have had hydraulics)

just my two recent experiences...i forget where you are located...but when you start drifting into the teens you start getting close to a new one (from a buyers perspective)

granted people will always/probably be buying tractors - yet you name it right now..fuel - food - jobs ---etc I guess that most of the "local" ones I see the sellers are asking too much - as you see the same 20-40 tractors for sale ran and rerun in the paper...no serious buyers around here...everybody wants that 4wd with a loader and 200hrs @ 40% of cost...somebody dropping 10-11k on a naked used tractor had better either be independently wealthy or be using it to make some $$$$

my short soap box

good luck selling

one last thing...i like to look at the completed auctions every now and then on ebay...see what they either sold for or didn't sell for...will give you an idea of what a buyer is willing to give - it is up to you to decide on how much to "take" - yo money:cool:
ebay is getting wiser -completed auctions do not stay online very long any more (something like 30 days) and the seller has the option to take the auction offline once the auction is over....

not sure the attachment will work or not - but if you are a member of proxibid - it is free - search through the auctions (it is suprising how many there are out there "online") for tractors that have sold in the past year .... a quick search for tn 65 came up with about 6-7 of them from 6300 to 13000 (less than a 1000hrs with a bushhog)...heres the attachment good luck

I bought the tractor for $10,500 but I have $1800 in parts and fluid... I knew that it needed a few things when I got it but I didn't realize how expensive some parts can get!!! I have only used it for about 40-50 hours. I listed it for $12,500 on craigslist to see if it would be possible to get my money out of it but I have only gotten one response since. I think its time to list it in the paper.....

It is kind of hard to justify being paid for fluids as that is a common maintenance item.

What parts did you have to buy if you don't mind my asking?

Also, have you talked to any dealers about what they would give you on trade for the tractor you are looking for? It never hurts to ask.
