What\'s better Bar or Turf tires?

Can't decide if Bar or Turf tires are better for me. We have 6 acres of pasture to mow, a 1200 foot drive to clear of snow, manure to spread, a woods to clean up, a fence to build (and an old one to remove) and who knows what other things I'll get in to.

Our ground is fairly flat and sandy/loam. Can we get by with turf tires, even if we are dragging a rake in the arena?

If you're not going to mow, or worry about some scuffing, I'd say you should go with the bar tires.

You should look at the industrials, but I do think the bars would work better for the tasks yu have described.

For what you are wanting - I would suggest Ag (bar) tires. They are way better for traction in snow and mud. Some say ag tires will tear up your lawn, but I haven't had that problem as lond as it is not wet. Most of the problem is with the front tires digging in when you turn. If you watch what you're doing, then ag tires won't tear up your lawn either.

I would go with R1's or R4's. I believe that you would be sadly disappointed with turf tires in your application.

Thanks All...and I am taking your advice. Getting the industrials since were going to build a new house too and I've heard they're a bit tougher to puncture.

This is my first tractor and I'm looking forward to lots of fun. More than likely, I'll have lots of questions as I learn to burn..diesel, that is.
