What\'s the benefit of more HP on the same frame?

I read a thread on 2310/2810/3510 (all HST's) getting the same loader. Explanation was they are the same frame and the same gpm, so the same lifting capacity. If 3510 (more expensive) has no advantage over 2310 in lifting, when is more HP beneficial? In pulling?

For operating PTO powered implements!!!

The higher HP tractor will also feel less sluggish, especially under load and on hills.

Since these are nice heavy tractors, the extra power is handy for everything, except it doesn't produce more hydraulic power, so lift capacity will remain the same. The 3510HST is a well balanced tractor. The 2310HST is underpowered, the 2810HST does fine. They have all been replaced by the 15 series built in Japan by Mitsubishi. The 2815 and 3215 models lift over 1400 lbs in the bucket, turn on a dime, and are extremely responsive.

Unless I'm sorely mistaken the 3510 frame is the same as the 4110 and the 2310 and 2810 were the same size. Apples and oranges.....BobG in VA

The thread was about HST's. I should have spelled out 2310 HST, 2810 HST, and 3510 HST. Sorry about the confusion.

You are correct if you are talking about the non-HST models, but on the HST's, the 2310, 2810 and 3510 share the same frame. Essentially, the 3510HST and the 3510 shuttle are completely different tractors.
