Whats the best "all-around" grease

It seems to me things can get too complicated for no reason.

I may be a simple man but I have one grease gun that I fill with the lithium based Mobil 1 synthetic grease. I use it for the boat trailer and tractor.

I feel frequent greasing with any quality grease is just as important as taking a chemistry class to figure out what each ingredient does.

Grease is grease for the most part. But mixing different types is not good.

Just my $.02.

Well the local Wally World was clearancing their stock of Mystik JT-6 Multi-Purpose EP grease for a dollar a tube (it's the red stuff). They had 8 left and they are now out in my shop. I'll use this grease for everything EXCEPT the FEL grease points; on those I'll use Moly EP. I got my Lincoln grease gun from Amazon today and it works great. Extremely tight fit on the zerks....have to play tug of war to get it off the zerks. I now have my plews gun with Moly EP and my Lincoln gun with Multipurpose EP (red grease). Thanks for the education and advice.

You should be able to loosen the coupler's grip by twisting the knurled part. THeres a thread on it here somewheres

I picked up some Gulfflex Moly EP2 for the bucket pins. I noticed that it's specifications regarding molybdenum disulfide characteristics had "extremely low particle size (96% of the particles of his grade are under 2 microns in size), which eliminates the abrasiveness associated with lower quality grades of moly additive." The price seemed reasonable as well ($3.00 a tube).

Caterpillars own brand they recommend for loader applications is one of their 5% Moly greases, either Cat Ultra 5Moly Grease or Cat Desert Gold Grease.
