Hmm... wish that Taylortractornut lived closer to me, I could use a couple of those basket totes... anybody know where to go looking for them?

Anyway, my first idea is to have a way to water plants around the property so I thought about getting a carry all and mounting 1 or 2 55 gal drums on it. King cutter makes one with 1000 lbs capacity. 55 gal of water weighs about 450 lbs so the carry all couls acomodate 2 drums. I知 not sure how to do the hose. I guess gravity few is ok.

Or maybe there is a better way. Appreciate any ideas.[/QUOTE]

I use a plastic 250 gal tank in a 5x8' two wheel trailer with 3500# axle. Water through a 1.5" flexible hose about 10-15' long with shut off valve on the end. Gravity with garden hose is just way too slow for me. The tank was a give away and the trailer I already had. If you have lots of plants/trees consider a larger tank on a trailer.

I have been known to just fill the fel bucket with water drive over to the tree and dump it out of the bucket.

I agree that gravity feed through a garden hose is just too darn slow. Radman's 1.5" inch hose is one solution. Another is a PTO driven roller pump with pick up in your barrel. I have one set up like that, and pulling the trigger on a normal garden hose sprayer is just like watering from the outside faucet -- maybe even a little better if you crank the RPM's up a little.

I have a 275 gal. tote and a carryall that I use for watering and works good. I was using a garden hose and gravity, but I will be stepping up to Radman's 1.5'' hose idea.

Taylor,
I am not familiar with those things (bucket style totes). Is there a picture somewhere.
BTW we lived in Iuka for a short time before moving to Columbus. Nice place. I was retired and was offered another job in Columbus so here we are.

Want to thank all for the advice. Jeffinsgf. Excuse my ignorance, I have only been a tractor owner for less than 3 weeks. If I have a carry all connected to the PTO (to raise it off the ground) how can I connect a PTO roller pump at the same time? Also I have no idea what that looks like.

I've tries this method and it only works if you have smooth ground to drive on, and you go real slow. Otherwise so much water sloshes out that it that it's hardly worth the hassle.
