Rotary Cutter Whats the biggest meanest rotary cutter for a.....

Everyone,
Thank you for the information. There are some serious looking cutters there, a friend of mine has a JD 413 and it is far from what I want,he came over to help me one day and that thing was far from being well built,we ended up have to weld and bang on it with a hammer for 3 hours to straighten it back out after he brushogged for a day.
He was backing into some 2" stuff and laying it down and then sitting there eating it up.
I decided then and there I was going to spend my money on something that I would not have to repair and reinforce after using it.
So I am going to get myself something that can hold up to the work it will be exposed to.
I ask a lot out of my equipment,but I am willing to pay for something good in return. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Stay real. I've 29.5 pto hp on a Kubota 3410 gst, and max'd out with a Woods BB600 (their "medium duty" brush cutter). The BB600 weighs 1039 lbs. and the minimum rated pto hp is 30. Yup, my Kubota is marginal at times. Anyhow, it'll cut 2" stuff easily, and 3" stuff with much noise - but I've never had to straighten a blade or deck (yes, I sharpen the blades periodically). Prior posts have mentioned a number of fine brands. Just check the pto requirements of the brush cutter you desire, and its' weight (you do NOT want to overwhelm your 3ph capacity, or drive around with your front wheels off the ground).
Oh yeah, before I sign off - make sure your rpm is up at the recommended level (?2600) when driving through thick brush with the cutter - it does NOT like to be luggin along when thick limbs are encoutered (whole darn tractor will vibrate).

5' Hardee Tiger (now EBH manufacturing used to be Hardee Williams). comes in 90 and 125 hp gear boxes @ 1,550 and 2900 bucks. These babies will cut just about anything.

The Deere x13 Series was pretty sorry.

Their new LXx line is much better, and the MXx is in a whole differant stratosphere...

There are other good choices, but I didn't think you'd want to form an opinion of the Deere stuff by the ols x13. In my pricing, the Deere units were the best value. Your mileage may vary....
