Re: What's the difference between "Today's Posts" and "New Posts"?????
The reason I don't use "new posts" is that there are too many posts that are simply of no interest to me. I don't generally want to read about Jinma tractors or Farmall Vintage Tractors, indeed I don't believe I've ever read anything from either of those subforums. I also don't need to read every rehash of "what oil is best?".
It would be more useful to have the ability to have posts on topics I am interested in be brought to my attention the same way you can be alerted to something with a standing search in some Craigslist apps. If a new post appears anywhere on TBN with the word "grapple" or "backhoe" I would find that more useful.
The screening method von-mil described could certainly be useful but it would be even better if topics that TBN knows (just like Amazon knows) interest you were brought to your attention. Similarly it would be useful to know when someone that I often follow makes a post as I am more likely to be interested in those posts than average. Being able to quickly scan to see if K0ua or DK35vince has made a new post is more useful to me than just a list of all new posts.
