That was the funniest thing I've seen all week! My wife asked me what was wrong, I was laughing so hard. Folks, you ought to check this out, and be sure to read all of the way through it, particularly his answers to the numerous questions from bidders. Really, really funny.

A few years ago, as we were planning our retirement home on some land we purchased, the wife and I debated about building the house or buying a "manufactured home." We had built one house and felt we could do it again. Instead we listened to the propaganda put out by the manufactured housing industry and bought a double wide. We researched carefully and shopped diligently. What we got was incompetent installation, sloppy construction, inferior materials, and unending aggravation. For the same money we could have built better from scratch.

The stock market can be a humbling experience.

Don;t kick yourselfs, just learn and move forward.

Someone once told me long ago......

"Never put all your eggs in one basket". And I did this, and the market went south, a lost for years, just NOT as much
as some. Now, we seem to be in a "recovery" mode.

Bought a new 1980 Renault Le Car; got 38,000 miles out of it before I gave up due to cost of second valve job. Apparently, if you aren't a Frenchman, you couldn't repair the LeCar. I bought it because the LeCar was cheaper than a Toyota Corolla. Got 243,000 miles and 12 years out of the replacement Corolla before we junked it (I do learn from my past mistakes!)

Yep, your invited to see thier showroom, invite only. They do it in the evening, harder to get a price comparison. Show you inflated list prices and "Thier" superdeal price. super high pressure sales. You have to decide right then and there cause this offer will NEVER be available again if you change your mind. I walked out when they could not beat any of the price quotes I had prepared.

My dumest purchase was from a family member selling those stupid "Blue wash balls", no soap needed.

A stand for my miter saw and roller stands from Homier's Traveling Snake Oil Show oops I mean Homier's Travel Tool Sale. The stand wasn't big enough for the saw even though they said it would fit. Couldn't keep it square nor level enough to ever think about putting the saw on it. The rollers didn't roll smooth - well one not at all and the legs bent under the weight of a couple of 2x4s. I trashed the one roller and the stand and other roller will be going shortly. Glad I didn't pay too much for them - of course that was my problem. I knew they were cheap and shouldn't have bought them. Just didn't know how cheap they were.

My wife bought this horse. The next week it got an abscess on its back foot. We treated that problem for several weeks and she was good for a couple of weeks. Then she foundered. We found out she did this every year. We had the fairier ( I’m sure I didn’t spell that right but it’s the horse shoe person) come out do his best but she could hardly stand. Next came out the vet which had us give her a couple big shots every day for a week. That didn’t help but I know she now relates us to that big needle and pain. If she could run I’m sure we would never get to her again. So now we have all this money in a horse that we have had a saddle on one time. I am going to put her down this next week. I can’t stand seeing her go through this pain any longer. We often learn best from bad things. The only thing I have to take from this the lessons I got from the fairer and vet that I may use on other horses.

A TimeShare Condominium.

Paid $5,000 or so back in the 1983 time frame, and have been paying $250 per year maintenance fees every since. I think the yearly fee just went up to $300, which I think is cheap compared to other condos around the country.

The real beauty of the thing is that YOU CAN"T GET RID OF IT!

I've told them that ...
(1) I haven't used it in approximately 10 years,
(2) don't anticipate ever using it again,
(3) don't want it anymore, and
(4) that I'll give it back to them at no charge.

They said that they would not take it back, they wanted to keep getting their yearly fees, and that they would sue me and ruin my credit rating if I quit paying.

Anyone want a timeshare condo? For Free???? Just assume the yearly maintenance fee contract that'll be "till death do you part".
