A TimeShare Condominium.
Paid $5,000 or so back in the 1983 time frame, and have been paying $250 per year maintenance fees every since. I think the yearly fee just went up to $300, which I think is cheap compared to other condos around the country.
The real beauty of the thing is that YOU CAN"T GET RID OF IT!
I've told them that ...
(1) I haven't used it in approximately 10 years,
(2) don't anticipate ever using it again,
(3) don't want it anymore, and
(4) that I'll give it back to them at no charge.
They said that they would not take it back, they wanted to keep getting their yearly fees, and that they would sue me and ruin my credit rating if I quit paying.
Anyone want a timeshare condo? For Free???? Just assume the yearly maintenance fee contract that'll be "till death do you part".
