You know, I have owned Gators as I said. Why you keep putting out statements that are simply false rather confuses me. Apparently you personally don't like the Yamaha Rhino for whatever reason, but you are not helping your credibility by posting statements that most everyone will recognize as incorrect.

Since I really like the HPX Gators, I was really hard pressed to chose the Kubota RTV over the Gator this last time. However, the RTV does have a stronger frame, power steering, and is not driven by a belt like a ATV. You seem so concerned about a belt being enclosed, I can't believe you are not concerned about the strength of a belt for 100% of the vehicle's power to the wheels as compared to a steel drive shaft like used in the RTV's. I think the HPX looks 10X better than the RTV, but after driving both and actually having both sitting side by side on my property, I had to go with the RTV for the actual heavy use I have to do right now. I may buy a diesel HPX later this year because they are very nice units and I think are undoubtedly tops in looks as far as I'm concerned. However, as much as I like the Gators, I still have to point out that you are, well, just flat wrong on Rhinos. Somebody has pumped you full of BS. You can talk about all of the great things on the HPX and I won't disagree with any because I've checked them out completely and really like them, but don't stick your foot in your mouth by making silly statements that are false about the Rhino.

Re: What\'s the real difference between styles of ATV

what does an rtv have to do with a rhino??????? sure the trv is stronger and more durable than a gator so what does it have to do with a rhino vs gator?? and i like yamaha all i said it they roll easy and they aren't built as tough as a gator. you can tell anyone you like that rhino's don't roll easy but i haveseen them with my own eyes roll so it ain't bs the rhino is an atv with a roll cage and seating for two it ain't and can't haul the loads that a gator or (rtv )can .look at the frames /look at the a arm"s then if you still comeback and tell everyone that a rhino is just as tough as a gator then your dead wronge compair them to a rhino i never heard of any frames crackin on a gator infact i don't hear much of nuthin goin wronge with a gator the buggest grip people have are it doesn't go as fast but 30mph is fast enough . so read the post i made carfully i didn't say anthing or did i campare the gator to the hpx so what's your hangup i never posted any faulse statements. they are true and i'll say it again THE RHINO IS NOT AS TOUGH AS THE HPX.NOW READ CARFULLY I NEVER MENTIONED THE RTV YOU DID. for someone to say that the rhino doesn't rolleasy that would be a faulse statement.for someone to say the rhino can haul the same loads as a gator that would be a faulse statement. for someone to say that the rhino it built as tough as the gator well that's realy pushing it.if the rhino was that tough then you would see them on all the farms and work sites and not the gator's and rtv's and what does a belt enclosure have to do with anything i posted in my last post. if your gonna bring up old threads then i'll just dig up all the post about problems people are havin with thier rtv's the only problem people have with the hps is speed and cold starting and if your to lazy to reach down (and it not that long of a reach) to pull the choke then you shoudn't be riding the thing anyway. now staop saying i'm not tellin the trueth about something when i seen it first hand.yamaha is a great machine but it shouldn't be in the same class as utv's. if i was to put the loads i hauled with my gator or you were to put the loads you haul with your rtv in the bed of a rhino what would happen??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif the bed would crack the shocks would bottom out and you would probable break something esle on it.but you take two stock machines and see what happens the gator will dragg the rhino the rhino just spins it's tires trust me i done it before if you don't beleive me get both and hook them up to each other. if you have a rhino you got a glorified 4 wheeler. now have a nice day and stop flamin people. sir!

Re: What\'s the real difference between styles of ATV

Bottom line: I've put my money where my mouth is; I've bought both and run both. I've worked on both and run both throught similar places. Until you put your money where your mouth is and buy a Rhino and run it directly against your HPX, I will flat out tell you that you are dead a$$ wrong. Period. End of the conversation. After you've bought both and spent a few months with each I'll listen to you. No offense, because I know you're going off of BS someone has shot at you, but plain and simple, you do not know what you are talking about. I'll wait to see your posts after you've put your money where your mouth is and bought both and put them to the test.

You will find that the HPX is certainly one fine machine (no surprise to you), but you'll also find that the Rhino is stronger and much more powerful. I've way overloaded the bed of the Rhino and it has shot up hills and through mud bogs that would leave the HPX flat out stopped due to lack of power. Don't believe me? I have a perfect mud bog to run through. We can put 800 pounds in the bed of each machine (yup, overloading the Rhino) and let's make a run through the thick sloppy bog. I have 27" Bighorns on mine with a 2" lift similar to what you have on your HPX. Your tires will hook up to the point where your engine will fail to be able to turn them. Fact. Been there, done that, got the T shirt. Buy one and find out for yourself. As they say, the buck stops here. You have an awesome machine, no doubt, but someone has really lied to you about the Rhino.

Re: What\'s the real difference between styles of ATV

Yes, I have rolled mine twice. I was spinning a donut on a hard packed road. ( good luck doing that with the gator) and the second time I was running with my 72"plow on it in the up position and the plow caught the roads edge. So, that really has nothing to do with the stability of the Rhino. The engine in the rhino actually has a very low center of gravity.
I in fact do own a rhino and have had it for 2 years. If someone that has actually owned one wanted to debate this issue i would gladly take their point of view into account.
But this whole, " a friends buddys brother " stuff just does not spell credability to me.
If you would like to put that gator up against my rhino in ANY kind of competion ( climbing, plowing, mudding, pulling, racing. or just plain trail riding comfort ) I would gladly do that.
If the Gator was in fact so much better than the Rhino then why is the rhino out selling the gator by leaps and bounds? Is everyone an idiot except you???? Must be cause' they are buying them as quick as Yamaha can make them.
I have been to a few RUV rides and I will tell you Rhinos dominate Period !!! I bet for every gator there is 250-300 rhinos.
we all ride them in very aggressive enviroments and if the Gator was so darn stable and tough you would think there would be more of them at these rides now wouldn't you.

Re: What\'s the real difference between styles of ATV

I hate to break in on this vigorous discussion, but are we not comparing an apple to an orange? When I bought my diesel Gator, I bought it for a few specific reasons: I wanted to be able to haul heavy loads and pull heavy loads up and down hill easily with maximum stability; I wanted a diesel engine, like my tractor; I wanted something easy to operate so that my dad would not kill himself using it, and I wanted my dealer--who is a good friend--to sell it to me. I also--shame on me--wanted something that looked good, and I think my Gator looks pretty darned good with its little extras. I have not been disappointed in my choice. My father has a Polaris 600 HO ATV which my mother will no longer let him use because of his age and poor judgment on his speed, etc. I use this whenever I am doing heavy off-roading. It is fast and it does not bother me that my Gator will only run 25-28 MPH, it still is one nicely made and stout UTV. I have said in previous posts that for pure off-roading I would choose the Rhino and the Polaris Ranger over a Gator or RTV, but for mainly work, I would choose the two latter ones. We each have our preferences and each machine does some things better and other things worse, but they all have their niche in the market. There is room for us all!!! See, don't we feel good now.

Re: What\'s the real difference between styles of ATV

rhino is for playin hpx is for workin.i have put my money where my mouth is . there are plenty of rhinos around here and they flip easy. how can you say they don't ??? your lyin right through your teeth. and to sit there and tell me i don't know nuthin. i would never put my kids on a rhino. they are to dangerous and like i asked where are all the rhino's on the farms and work sights . i don't see them around here. and as for my gator not being able to turn my tires it does just fine in the mudd and out the mudd.i recently tested it out we had a little bit of rain enough to make a nice mudd hole.and the only thing that got stuck was mudd to my fenders. and as for gators at rides well if you would check up on things alot of trails have rules of how wide your utv can be but hey you wouldn't know nuthin about that huh? and like i said before they are glorified atv's not workin utv's and about the friends brother stuff it's stuff i seen with my own eyes not second hand info.like i said before i was lookin at the rhino's before i got my hpx but the sales person kinda talked me out of it because of my neck and the way the ROLL to easy.. the rhino and gator i are in to diferent classes and for people who say they own both if the rhino was so great why you have a gator too?wouldn't you sell the weaker of the too. being that the rhino is so powerfull. you kind remind me of the people who say if you can't dazzle them with prefection the puzzle them with bs. i mean come on if the rhino is so great why do you own a gator too? i know to do the heavy work huh? i can't believe you would recomend a rhino for a family utv. if you owned a atv store and recomended something like that you would get sued from the first guy who's kid got hurt or killed on one. to me the wider the better when it comes to kids and the wife ridin it. have a nice day sirs as i was replying to two people not one . /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif no hard feelins my friend but you shouldn't act like you know everything. sometimes people are wronge but just won't admit it huh! and i'm not calin nobody an idiot sales don't have anything to do with the danger's of the rhino or the ability to haul a load. hey thousands of 3 wheelers were sold before they said hey these things are to dangerous?? go figure if your gonna get a rhino get the half doors so it will keep your kids legs and your wifes legs inside when it rolls.
