Speculation has gone too far. There is no reason to suggest that any departure was of a negative nature. A couple of very bold statements that cast a negative image on the Markhams. None of us were there, so maybe we shouldn't be judging as some are.

Perhaps the tone of the letter, simply- is that they were getting so many calls, they were not able to focus on doing BUSINESS. I know we are all curious but, multiply that by even 200 curious people calling over 2 months time. That is a lot of phone time spent on something NOT generating revenue.

Agreed that it might have been headed off at the pass- if they had thought to have an answer prepared. All water under the bridge at this point.

Just my 2 cents.......saved toward the tooth bar!

Just seems pretty sudden and drastic given melissa's previous emails and the dates of said email.

Not really. Transition of old owners for a period of time --then when the time is up, they go. The new owners typically don't want the old owners talking about personnel issues. All sorts of negatives can come from it with zero (or close to it) positives. Most companies have policies that you can be dismissed for discussion of personnel issues out of school. No mystery in it to me.

Best wishes on the new direction and all that.

If I'm not mistaken, I bet Christie Loflin is the same Loflin from Loflin Fabrication, who I think has been making skid steer attachements for many, many years in the same town as Markham.

Hmmm...I could be wrong.

As a matter of a fact, you are correct, I started Wildcat Attachments after establishing Loflin Fabrication with my now ex-husband, which I ran for many years and in the your also right about being in the same town as Markham.
:) Thanks for your comment!

The Markhams sold the business 1 1/2 years ago. Melissa dealt with customers for the past 1 1/2 years acting as if she still owned the business, or at least never mentioned otherwise. It sounds like it was time for them to move on. No one noticed any negative product or pricing changes during that time, so what's the problem with someone buying a business?
Best of luck to the Markhams, and welcome to TBN Gatorgirl!

Thank you very much all of you that understand all of this and notice the things I try not to make obvious, the above quoted is a great example.

I look forward to putting all of this behind us and hope that you all can to cause focusing on making Gator Attachments an all around better business is my current top priority.

Sincerely,
Christie Loflin

Welcome to TBN GatorGirl.

I recently purchased a Grapple from ya'll and can't wait to get home from Afghanistan to try it out.
I dealt with Melissa on this purchase and have to admit that dealing with her has been the best customer service experience I've had with a vendor.

I also will need a few more items for my tractor in the future and will be looking to your company for them. I look forward to working with you.

As a small business owner, I understand the transition aspect and wanting to keep the product as good if not better than before. As indication of the work involved, note what time she posted last night. She must be on Ken Sweet's schedule (as well as mine many days).

Just mho.

Agree, just normal business practice to transition from previous owners over time as required.

I have recently (this past week in fact) had correspondence with Mellisa. The fact is that She and Allen sold the business to Christie Loflin last May 2009. They stayed on for a while but are now gone 100% from the company. Only time will tell if the integrity that they built into the business will remain under the new ownership.

I live about 45 minutes from GatorAttachments. I emailed Melissa when they were Markham about a toothbar, she gave me a quote and told me there would be seven teeth on it. When I decided to order it they were GatorAttachments, I placed the order in person same price. Great customer service and a great product, as I was installing it I noticed it only had 6 teeth.:( I guess something got lost in the transition. It still is a great product:)

I already miss you Melissa...

I LOVE YOU GUYS AND MISS ALL YOU DEARLY! Yep we were fired around Sept 16. So Kenny I don't know who you talked to but it wasn't me. That is why i'm back here I got a few phone calls telling me my lunch sure has been a long one or where did you go on vacation? We did sell to Christie in 09 but verbal promises are meant to be broken this day and time. I am so sorry you guys felt I had abandoned you, I didn't at least not at will. She came in the office, called a meeting, said i have good news and bad news, here is your check and I sold the business but as i read what Julie and Christie are putting on here I now know that wasn't true, and apparently we didn't stand up to her high standards. And I am sorry it breaks my heart, it really does to know now what I didn't then. Well hindsight right boys. But just understand that me and Allen both left Gator because the police said we had to not because we wanted to. If you have questions about attachments or anything I can help with please let me know because apparently you boys need me as bad as I need you.

To answer the question yes we are fine, very poor but fine. Thank God our children understand the meaning of a True Christmas because this year it will be a reality. But we all need a little dose of that from time to time it makes us stronger.

Good luck to all and to all Happy Tom Turk Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!!!
The Real Melissa

Oh and i did post to you guys that we had sold. Its in these post somewhere I promise.
