What's this part?

Hello everyone and thanks for looking at my post. So here's my problem...I bought a used 1988 Massey Ferguson 375 4WD and apparently the previous owner(s) have used non-standard parts from who knows where. Recently the brake master cylinder broke and ordered a new one from the dealer but the mechanic couldn't make the original part fit. I tried looking for a similar master cylinder to the one what was in there but I can't find any part numbers or anything on the old part. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Looks like a slave cylinder for a hydraulic clutch actuator.

hey colcal would you like to see if it can be rebuilt and possibly truly figure out what it is please call rick 404-659-8722 his main business is fixing brake parts. have used him well over 20 years for everything from corvette power brake booster to air chambers off military vehicles you may have to send him some pictures for him to help in figuring it out he may also might get you someone closer to fix it for your good luck.

It looks more like a clutch master to me, due to the reservoir on top. I've never seen a slave with a reservoir on it. What ever it is it's a single circuit with a relatively short throw.
