What\'s this?

Hi all,

I've got this little electrical "thingy" on the back of my TU155, just above the PTO and have no idea what it is? It is currently disconnected, as it was when I bought this tractor. Any clue? Should it be there or not? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's your tractors U-shin.

Re: What\'s this?

Has anyone else got one? Or is this unique to the TU155 (or to MY TU155)? It is a sensor, it looks like the one on the U-Shin site, but what is it for? Tilt angle? PTO speed? I emailed U-Shin several days ago asking for them to identify it, but have had no reply.
Cheers for any insights!

Re: What\'s this?

It is the tractor side to side level sensor. In auto level mode it is the feedback control for the hydraulic 3 point side link

Re: What\'s this?

Cheers for that.
My tractor has had a modification where there are two "centre-off" toggle switches - up/down, tilt left/tilt right. I understand this is quite a common modification.
Does this remove the "auto level mode"? If I plug it back in, will it just work? How would I know? If it doesn't work - Is there any way to hook it back up?
Please excuse my ignorance! Cheers.

Re: What\'s this?

Thanks, Buck. I have been told that this modification is common, but why? Is it a fix for something that has broken or what? What was there before?
There is another device, some sort of shaft encoder/limit switch on the 3pt hitch (RHS of tractor) and this is disconnected too. Difference here is that there doesn't appear to be anywhere to plug it?? I need to add some kind of limit switch - at the moment it is possible to lift an implement up and hit the tractor and keep going....

Really appreciate "people who know" helping "those who don't"!
Regards,
Chris.

Re: What\'s this?

One of the reasons the tractors are exported is it broke down and was not cost effective to fix. The auto control three point is the perfect example. The amplifiers are usually the problem and are very expensive since they are somewhat an OEM part. Plus at that point most of the feed back loops are also having problems so the farmer gets frustrated and trades it in. You and I don’t need auto till control, up and down is good for what we use them for so the proportional amplifiers are taken out and you get a toggle to go up and down.

Put the normally closed limit switch in series with the lift circuit so when it hits the top it stops and doesn’t bog the motor.

I see you’re from Perth; it was my favorite port of call when I was in the Navy. Or I should say my favorite place to have a beer eh. Enjoy your tractor.
