I look at temps, estimated wind, and precipitation. I guess you could say that I process my own "feels like"...If I am going to be out in it, the “Real Feel” does matter. If it is 19F, with no wind, and clear skies, it really does feel like it is near the mid to high thirties in the sun, if being a little active. Now step behind something, into the shade and stand still, and it rapidly begins to feel like the actual 19F it is.
When you’re figuring out how many layers of what you want to put on before you go out, it is nice to know both. And, maybe dress for the warmer, and carry a jacket for the cooler.
