What's wrong with my tractor? Engine? Injector Pump?

The tractor DOES shut off with the key now. At one point it didn't. I've messed with a bunch of things in the interim though, it could be as simple as a spring that I moved around when messing with the fuel lines. I don't know.

After 5" of rain in the last 24 hours I'm not going to be doing much tractoring anytime soon and I'm going to be going out of town for 10 days after that so I'll just see what my friend thinks when he looks at it. If I get a chance I'm going to run the threaded connections to the injector pump (I've just messed with the rubber fuel lines so far, I haven't actually pulled the threaded connections) and see if there is anything plugging those.

RobJ - you said "On the metric lines vs sae lines, these tractors don't use that much fuel, going from 3/8 to 5/16 to even 1/4 inch would cause fuel starvation. " Did you meant to say "wouldn't" cause fuel starvation? The main line that was on there was 5/16" that I replaced and the others looked to be 1/4" but could have been something metric - they weren't labeled, and I replaced them with 1/4". The 1/4" lines seem to be bypass lines only though, all the real fuel lines going from the injector pump to the individual cylinders are metal.

Correct, a typo? me? never!! :D :D hehe

Yeah, little smaller line not a big problem IMO. Mine uses half gallon an hour and I hardly see much of anything going through the bypass at the injectors (mine is gravity feed so there is nothing to push it through).

Still not working like it should. :(

It worked a little better last time I used it, but it was cooler out and took over an hour to warm up and start bogging down. Now it isn't shutting off with the key again.
