Problem solved!!! I got home today and pulled the PW out of the garage to mess with it some more. Checked the oil and it was still above the full mark on the dip stick. Rather than go ahead and drain the oil and fill with new right away (in case it was really messed up), I decided to just drain out a cup or two and get the level back down to where it should be. After getting the oil down to the proper level, I pulled the plug again. Didn't really have a nozzle to blast some air into the chamber so I just pulled the rope about 20-30 times till it seemed to blow out 95% of the oil. Cleaned the plug off, squirted some some starting fluid into the chamber, and put the plug back in.
Started cranking it and nothing happened for a good many pulls, but then eventually I saw some smoke out of the exhaust and would hear a pop at the same time. Eventually it got to where it was trying to fire up, and not long after it finally cranked up and ran. Boy, did it smoke though!!! It took about 5 minutes of running at half throttle to burn out all of the oil. It eventually stopped blowing smoke and settled down and ran smooth. I think it's good to go now, or at least I'm gonna run it till she blows! Thanks for everyone who offered suggestions, I did learn a little about them. Biggest thing I learned here is..... don't overfill vertical shaft engines with oil, or it can seep past the rings into the (horizontal) combustion chamber and lock things up.
