Flat black is fine with me.
It may be a throw back to my drinking days, but black and mud or black and rust just seem to go together like black and tan (-:
One of my "already got half the materials for it" projects is to add better visibility to my FEL buckets.
I sometimes see a loader coming out of a driveway on a back road and it seems that black bucket could do with some "Conspicuity".
I'm sure my own could too when I'm clearing snow and emerge in the early morning half light.
Early morning commuters in their half awake state, trying to balance their tasks of getting to work, cell phone, sucking down caffeine, etc. then WOW a tractor with a dull black bucket to swear at.
So, I'm gonna paint the sides of my buckets with something bright and luminescent, then slap a SMV emblem on each side.
Maybe a 3 or 4 inch triangular strip of yellow or orange, then the SMV emblem in the middle.
The factory paint on the sides of my buckets has survived quite well, so I expect them to last five years or more.
I might even add some of the 2 inch wide white/red conspicuity tape to the loader arms as well.
This may be paranoia, but I really don't want to get sideswiped and emerging from driveways and side streets with a bucket hanging out in front.... it wouldn't take much to spin me around and/or tip me over.
