Re: What\'s your fuel mileage

The Local Dodge dealer wants $37,500. Thats a 3/4 ton quad cab XLT, auto 4wd, diesel longbed. The diesel option is over $5k for most manufacture/dealer.

Re: What\'s your fuel mileage

That idea might work, if you are not planning on driving anywhere! Around here, 'cheapie' gas is 1.69 nine a gallon, and I 'held out' as long as possible! Took 32 gallons to fill the pickup@16.75 miles per gallon (combo town/highway). I couldn't hold out any longer, and still make daily trips to the hospital 15 miles away.

Re: What\'s your fuel mileage

Consider yourself fortunate. Had to get gas up on the ridge on Sunday. They were out of regular (87 octane), and were waiting for delivery. Had to get the super-regular (mid grade). Cost was $2.23/gallon. Luckily I was in the little commuter car and only had to get 12 gallons. That was still $26 for the fillup.

Re: What\'s your fuel mileage

Got a Dodge saturday. I have always liked that Turbo-Cummins. I went with the 2500 quad cab longbed 4x4, auto. I've only driven it about 125 miles so far, and have really liked it so far /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif It's the first new vehicle I've ever had, and probably the last for a while... I hope!

Re: What\'s your fuel mileage

The motor will definitely last you as long as you want it to. The rest of the truck is pretty solid anymore too. What transmission did you get with it?

Re: What\'s your fuel mileage

Richard,
I went with the Auto. My wife injured her knee badly last year, in a horse related incident. It will be easier for her to drive than a manual tranny.

I've driven to work the last couple of days; the auto is nice in traffic. My old truck has a granny box in it; shifting as a 3sp, it didn't have as much flexibility in traffic. That, and clutching it in general. I've always preferred a manual, but I like this so far.

It also has the tow and camper package. I like the fact the truck is already wired with a 7-wire connector, and that it has the pigtail adapter for a brake controller. I wired my old truck recently; it wasn't hard, but I still had to cut into some wires to do it.

We're still in the $1.93-$1.98 range for regular. Diesel is $1.63-$1.73
