Looking at MF 1648.

What kind of adjustability is there with the rear wheels and front wheels meaning what is std width and how much +/- from that. Input would be appreciated.

I just got my 1643, and did notice, and after reading the manuel. they are changeable, Mine are set at 68" and can be set less under 60". This is something I will like here in the future, it keeps me from having to buy a wider tiller.
Looking at my wheel set up it appearse I can go about 8 to 10 inches wider.
I can't see going wider due to 72" rotory cutter.
hope this helps.

The6shooter is right, on the rear you can turn the rims around, also you can set the outer rim either inside or outside the centre hub, the only thing I'm not sure of is the front rims, you can probably spin those around and widen the stance, but there isn't as much versatility as with the rear.
