wheel weights

I am looking for wheel weights for a farmall H ,need about 600 pounds. any one in north east Pa looking to part with any excess weights

They go cheap at an auction, are more expensive from a boneyard and most expensive from a dealer. Best bet is to find an individual with some or a junkyard within driving distance. Keep an eye out for an auction.
I bought my H and extra weights by running a "wanted" ad in the local paper. Had more offered than I wanted but also bought an H, plows and mower that way as well.

If you buy some, post photos please--of both tractor and weights.

Just a thought. While walking today I noticed an old manhole cover that had somehow been washed down (or pushed down) into a creek. For its size it was a heavy sucker. I figure a few of these, the right size might easily be made into wheel weights. Its not what you are looking for, but someone might be able to run with the idea.

(edit. Manhole cover might not be the right description. It might also be described as a heavy, round steel inspection plate.)

Because of the price of steel those inspection plates can get in a lot of trouble.

I remember reading that Detroit was spending some unreal amount of money replacing them because they kept getting stolen.

I would contact McGrew equipment in Seven Valleys, near York PA. 888-311-2811, They are great to deal with and often have things you might have a hard time finding elsewhere. Their used equipment auctions on ebay are a great avenue to pick up items at rock bottom prices.
