Wheel Weights

I was shocked when my NH dealer told me what he sells wheel weights for on my TC35A. He charges $1.25 per pound. That sure seems a bit high to me. Anyone know of any place cheaper for wheel weight that wil fit my NH?

I know it sounds like alot but steel prices have skyrocketed in the last 2 years. If he doesn't charge you any extra for shipping you'll be lucky!

A few guys on this site have home-made wheel weights they made out of concrete. Those would be pretty cheap.

If you have old plates from weight lifting laying around some of the guys have made brackets to mount them on their rear wheels.

If either of those 2 options sound interesting you may want to search for those topics in forums like" Built it Yourself" or "Customization"

Some years back we were paying $0.75 a pound for weights so with all the price increases $1.25 per pound might not be out of line.

We got a deal on our NH weights but they came with the TC40D as a package price.

Dealer told me the $1.25 was ballpark price. True cost for a 200lbs set of weights is $185. That rounds out to about .92 cents per pound plus tax. I had my rear tires loaded but was to much weight on the yard and was messing it up. Had half the fluid drained and now with only 400 lbs of fluid it's not leaving marks in the yard but, I can't stand the sloshing around of the fluid in the tires so I'm going to switch over to wheel weights and just have the tires drained completely.

I advertised in a local free paper for used barbell weights,Got more than I needed.all for free. even the bar and bench if I wanted. Hung em on a bar that fits my 3 point arms. Then I also saw all kinds of weights being sold at "Wall-Mart" up to 45 lbs each. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
