Wheels instead of Skids - WoodMaxx SB-84 Snowblower

I only cleared the PAVED areas of the wet 5" of snow before the temps plummeted and I also drove up and down the 200 foot gravel driveway to pack the snow. Now the gravel area has a tough packed snow base on top of it.

My solution has been to weld oversized soles onto the factory skids.
Generally that solution has worked out just fine other than last winter's frost had pushed up obstructions here and there plus I decided to clear out a grassy area that was soft.
Last night the temperature plummeted so I now have a decent base, hopefully for the rest of this winter., but due to wind the lake is still not frozen. weird as it is -12 deg.
