This has been going on for very many years and is nothing new. The earliest form of downsizing that I know of is when they changed the quart bottles (32 oz) of liquor to fifths (25.6 oz or 757 ml) then again to 750 ml bottles.

My favorite is when you compare unit pricing, some of the larger packaging is more expensive per unit. Folks have in their minds that buying in bulk or larger quantity is less expensive and don't check unit price.

Used to see that all the time with Heinze Ketchup.

Well when the size of everything you are eating has been reduced you should not require as much TP. It's physics (or chemistry or climate change or something...). :laughing:

Probably the biggest disadvantage here is the storage cost and opportunity cost of the wasted shelf space.
