When are 2017 GM and Rams coming out?

They are sure behind the game the year. I picked up my 2016 GMC Denali Dually last year in October - it was sitting on the lot.

I am sure there are some die hard GM fans that will wait but it has to kill sales on new models when Ford and Ram have 2017's sitting on the lot.

Yeah, when I bought my 2015 it was September of 2014. Usually the next years model are on the lot in the fall. GM really goofed by delaying production.

IMO the trucks of 17 and before are so over priced!. Not everyone who walks on a lot can pay 50 60k out of pocket so I would guess plastic is the main choise.

With that said I'd stick with my 01 2500hd it may be old and have less power then new but it's paid for.

By "plastic" I assume you mean financing? My salesman friend says 95% of customers only want to talk about payment amount.

And that is why most of them end up upside down in every vehicle as they agree to a payment that does not keep up with depreciation and/or roll negative equity into the loan.

I trade my truck in for a new model every 3 years, and lower my payment each time while increasing equity.

Current truck is worth $7k less than I paid for it and I have about $20k in equity.

Even a 4x4 wt is going to cost I don't thing it really matters yeah you may save not buying a slt or xtl but still the base truck with no power windows locks is still up in the high 30s or low 40s with the 6.0 gas engine.

Up until about ten years ago we financed everything we bought then we decided to stop the nonsense. We made some serious cutbacks and drove some cheap vehicles for a few years but now we are in a good place and pay cash for everything. Yes I drive a 60k vehicle I paid cash for but I didn't pay all 60k at once. I started with cheaper vehicles I paid cash for and traded them in and upgraded paying cash for the difference. Instead of making a car payment to the bank I make one to myself in savings so when the time comes I can upgrade.

It's pretty hard to ignore the 0% financing deals as you can leave your money in an account of your choice to continue making money. That's called positive cash flow with a depreciating purchase.

Anytime I have bought a new vehicle (and I have bought 6 in the last 4 years between personal and business) you give up rebates when you take the 0% financing so the zero percent isn't truly zero percent. If I recall correctly the last truck I bought was $3500 cash back or 0% financing.

I am not completely opposed to financing something at 0% if it is truly that and they don't offer some kind of discount if you pay cash. For example when I bought a kubota UTV the price was exactly the same cash or 0% financing. They would not offer a discount if I paid cash so I took the 0%. Most of the time though there is some kind of hook to it.

I always buy new so that I know it is well taken care of, but then again I keep my vehicles decades. I am still driving my 91 GMC Sonoma that I bought in the fall of 90.

When I do buy new I do the math to see if 0%, rebates or cash is the best deal.

There is no such thing as 0% financing which you know very well.
