When are you too heavy for a finish mower?

That is also my thinking. Could get a pretty nice used zero turn for the cost of a deck for the tractor probably and would have better results. The only reason I considered it is I like to use one machine for as many tasks as possible to reduce the number of engines I have to keep up. I would rather have one machine with several attachments than specialized machines for each task anyday.

This is good to know. My tractor is about 6500 lbs, and I am in hard clay. I don't think changing the tires is an option for me so I will probably use a rider mower instead.

Wow.. 65hp tractor and a finish mower. I don't think I've seen many 3pt finish mower past 96".. and then those are real spendy.. The next jump is to like 20' by people like schulte.. etc. And those are super super spendy.

Are ya sure that a regular 10' rotary mower or something similar won't do ya? Have to be finish? how much acerage are we talking.

right, I've already pretty much discounted it. A rider will probably be the way to go.

When are you too heavy for a finish mower? When you can't see your feet. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif No, seriously, I once had thoughts of mowing with a Minneapolis Moline UB I had. I'm sure it tipped the scales close to 5 tons, just guessing. made serious ruts in anything but bone dry sun scorched turf.
