Because I NEED them in my mowing business. No one with half a brain would buy two tractors and NOT need them.

Thanks, I guess that I just got put in my place.;) Could you define need for me? I only have 1/3 of a brain ya know. :D

You mean you don't buy one tractor for every implement you own then bring it up every chance you get:rolleyes:

I'm glad that isn't me, I have a hard enough time keeping everything serviced without having umpteen more tractors to take care of. But then I suppose that they wouldn't have to be serviced as often. Oh well, what ever floats your boat. It's not like they are work tractors, more like collectors stuff aren't they?

Not to change the subject, but Robert do you have any pictures of your disk and maybe in use. I would like to see how your disk leaves the ground after it has been disked. If you have any, thanks for posting them.

Brian, FWJ's and my post were not directed at you. It has something to do with LBrown59.

I have a pic of my dad discing with the TN and 12' International and will drag it up for you.

Robert hopefully explained things well enough. Sure was NOT my intent to insult you.

In this case, "need" is when I started a mowing business that sorta took off beyond my wildest expectations. Originally, we thought one new tractor/batwing mower and an assortment of smaller tractors I already owned could keep pace with the workload.

NOPE!

So, 2 additional new tractors, 2 new batwings, and a new trailer, we'll go into this coming season with hopes of NOT having to run 16 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I didn't think that they were, but I do have more than one tractor and I have been told that I could make do with my 16hp garden tractor.:D My response to that person was that I wasn't going to live that long, but that it probably was possible to get by with something that small. I mean, I do have a front blade, a rear blade, a Gannon rollover box blade and a belly mower for it. What else would I need except maybe another 100 years.;)
Thanks for looking up the pics.:)

Bill, you did not insult me, I was already fairly sure that you weren't talking about me. As far as your need for the new equipment, I was sort of surprised that you waited as long as you did with things going so good for you. But I'm sure that there are details there that don't need to be explained to me. The only reason that I replied was that I have a few tractors and many people think that I do not need them. I make use of them all, but do I really need them, not really sure. I suppose it depends on what a persons definition of need is. All I know is that they sure make my life easier, each and every one of them.:D

No one needs to explain to me why they have more than one tractor! Currently I have 4 here at home on 45 acres. Can't run but one at a time. Back when I used to buy and sell used tractors for a 2nd income, at one stage, my wife pointed out to me that I had over 20 parked in the yard.

I'm old school. I don't buy equipment in hopes of finding enough work to keep it busy. I wait until there's no other alternative.

Put it this way: I was going to buy a JD 4000 series...but the dealer was such a jerk I gave my business to the MF dealer and bought a nice 1540 Powershuttle w/FEL.
