When did I lose control?

My wife asked me to sell her mothers van after she passed. I obliged and gave her the time and date Carvan would pick it up. Just so happened she was home when we saw the big Carvana hauler coming down the road. Here they come I said. How are they going to fit it on there with that other car? She asked....Uhm a, they're not. That ones for me. Oops.

The trick is to do it so often they lose interest. Now she just asks which one are you gonna sell?

I was on an overseas hunting trip and shot a couple animals that weren't on my wife's "pre-approved list". I called her and apologized and remember thinking to myself that she seemed to take the news/confession abnormally well.

When I got home, I learned she had bought herself a fancy new ring. Odd that it cost about the same price as the extra animals I hunted.;)

My biggest fear though, is that someday she sells all my stuff for what I told her I paid for it.

I didn't do the bending. I bought it from a China outfit that makes them for the purpose, with multiple options. However, I did learn there are companies domestically that also do it. It's similar to this:
Wood Fired Coil Kit

I think mine was about 1/2 the cost and I could choose the end types. I chose 1 1/2" Male threaded ends and they screw directly into bulkhead fittings I put on the side of the pool.
Relatives have added coils to their living room wood fired tiled stoves to heat the bathroom radiator down the hall… it really does work with no pump… coil connected to radiator and back…

I picked up their mail for a week in January and the wife was dreading coming home to snow and a cold home after sun drenched beaches. They never vacation but she told her husband that just once she wanted to experience summer in January.

The house was… let’s say toasty and the wife was more than thrilled… husband went immediately outside to check the woodpile :)

I didn’t mean to create a domestic problem because after that day the husband kind of lost control of the inside temp because the wife now knew warmer was possible…

The size and quality of a man’s woodpile still means something in areas where most still heat with wood!

I love having a simple wading pool. It's probably one of the most enjoyable things for me, on a summer evening after dinner. Mine is just a 6' galvanized trough, that I clad in cedar. But it's perfect for 2 of us to sit in and cool off. It also has a wood fired heater. It's a coil of 1.25" diameter stainless tubing that you build a fire in the center of the coils. Thermal siphon makes cool water enter the bottom and hot exit the top. I shielded it with some left over galvanized when I did the "proof of concept". I need to buy some 304 stainless and remake the shielding now that I know it works so well. I also have a festive colored welding umbrella that hangs over the pool.

I wonder if one of these would heat a 21x43 pool!?

I dumped more money into the Akita Room. She wanted a lot of light over the bathtub, so I went with LED's in the ceiling, and then LED Track Lights on either side. I can add more Track Lights if she wants them, but for now, she says that we're good.

The ceiling is 8-foot-long Pine Tongue and Groove from Lowes. I stained it with Minwax English Chestnut, but I don't stir the can. There is a pink paste that settles to the bottom that is horrible. We love the color this way, but I have to throw the can away when it gets down to the pink paste. Since I'm doing this by myself, 8-foot lengths are all I can handle on the ladder.

I bought just enough to get the lights installed. I'll get more for next weekend, and then the following weekend. Maybe I'll even finish the ceiling this month?

The biggest issue with the Flying Pig Dog Bath is the ramp. It's too slippery for out dogs and they refuse to use it. We had to pick them up and put them in the tub. I found some stair tread pads at Lowes that worked perfectly. I didn't even cut them, I just installed them with some self-tapping screws and washers.

The dogs go right into it now. That was a huge improvement!!!!

Unfortunately, not big enough for that. I think you'd need a lot more BTU's and surface area.

Boy, can I relate. We started competing our Labradors in APLA, AKC and HRC hunt tests around 12 years ago- I’m pretty sure if I ever calculated the per/pound cost of the ribbons, plates, etc crack would have been far cheaper!!!

Dogs, horses, tractors, cars, boats, airplanes, tools, all ways to spend a lot of money you'll never get back. Pick you poison.

All trivial expenses.
Try and impress a woman.
Then spend at least half getting rid of her.
Both well worth it according to the little guy guiding your ship.:ROFLMAO:
