When did John Deere begin the Right to Repair problems?

You forgot the built-in toilet and microwave.
Never seen a toilet equipped ag tractor though I carry a roll of TP in mine and I make use of secluded spots and the farmers squat to do my business. After all, it IS fertilizer. No microwave either, none needed. You take your foil wrapped sandwich and wedge it in the exhaust manifold for a few to warm it up. Do that all the time in the field.

I've fertilized countless fields in my day....... :p

Here is a related question. Does anyone produce a basic tractor. My 2019 RK24 (TYM) is about as basic as I've seen. I can do the standard 250 hour maintenance, haven't tried repairing anything but I have added stuff with no problem. I assume it has some computer related functions but otherwise it seems work about the same as the 1982 B7300 Kubota I had.
That is exactly why many people buy Branson's these days. They are about the least computerized tractor on the market. Unfortunately they don't make anything in the large tractor market though.

Iowa farmers love it when the RAGBRAI bicycle ride goes past there fields. They get fertilized close to any field entrance.

RAGBRAI = Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. There is over 10,000 riders every year in the 7 day ride.

The do now, they offer an in the excess of 100 horse (PTO) FWA cab unit now. They 'were' the least computerized unit on the market until they exhausted all their emissions credits. In the same boat as everyone else now.

Branson is not currently selling tractors bigger than 60HP in the US market. And up to 60HP, Branson uses fully mechanical engines. No ECU's whatsoever. The emissions is basically a bolt on deal with it's own datalogger, easily "fixed" if needed, just as Cougsfan said.

They sold the 7845 at 74HP while they could but are now waiting for approval on some emissions nonsense to start selling bigger tractors again.

Kukje (Branson's parent company) have 100, 110 and 120 HP tractors in Korea and above that, they have JD tractors from 120 to 250HP that are made by Kukje.

You could be right as I just looked at their website and they show a 58 horse pto model as the largest. I stand corrected then. Not sure if it's emissions nonsense everyone else has to comply...

Where did I see a 100 pto plus horsepower Branson at then??

Certainly too small for my use.

The aren't the only ones with guidance systems and tattletale systems on their equipment. Take a look at CNH/New holland.

I cannot do squat to my baler because the error codes are in the ECM and not downloadable by the end user, a royal PITA., Why I'm trading it for another baler, sadly, this one is ECM driven as well.

Re-branded Tesla tractors. "We know what's best for you" (meaning us). "Can I scratch your nose for you?"

What??!! A tractor that makes coffee, and watch YouTube tractor videos in the cab? I’m going to JD website ASAP! God Bless America!!!
Hahaha, the big combines have been that way for many years. Looks like a starship deck, some have multiple rooms and satellite dishes so you can watch the games while the autopilot keeps going.

You don't make money with happy existing loyal customers, you make money with new sales.
JD or whoever, doesn't make any money if you buy an off brand part from a supplier, so they figured out how to force you to buy only dealer parts and service.
It's money pure and simple, there may be better software from some "non JD" provider that could run these unit just as well, if not better but we'll never know.
