when is the best time of year to buy a tractor

I would imagine business slows in winter for most dealers, but I don't know if they are more willing to deal. Unless there is a model change, the previous year tractor will be sold as the current year.
Go visit some dealers and see what they have to offer, and enjoy.

I suspect it would also depend on the area where you live and demand vs supply for a tractor the size you are looking for in that area.

Another factor might be number of reputable dealers selling tractors of that size.

also depends on the market source you're looking at for used. whenever you decide, recommend bringing a good tractor mechanic along to check out the machine. never buy online unseen, etc, you know that

For new, I typically see the dealers having specials and promoting packages when the state fairs start. So, I would say August/September.

I hate to say it sir, in a search for new I think there is no good time of year to buy.

The sooner the better... I've yet to see prices fall on new equipment. Which also keeps used prices elevated. You may see some incentives at certain times of the year, but you could wait a year to save $500 on a new tractor, after the new year price increase of $500

Just look for 0% financing and go with it. I got 0-72 on my Massey.
