When will a manufacturer finally create an affordable retro style tractor

Sounds like an executive decision.....so common in larger companies.

The people making the decisions never use the product, and likely had a last job as CEO of a female clothing chain, or Grocery stores.

I think you are correct in the little reading I did it sounds like it was made to be a show tractor that is never used. I don't think the target market has a machine sitting in their barn to just look at.

I know if it was out and at a realistic price point I would have likely bought one.....I know the wife really liked it and I have an old 8N now...so having a new one would have been real cool.

You have to have VOLUME production and VOLUME sales to have a "realistic" price point.

I sold a Boomer 8N to a customer of mine in Oct 2011. Before he bought it, I used to take it to the local tractor club shows and did some exhibition pulls with it. Everybody liked it but said they wouldn't pay that kind of money for one. Since this guy bought the tractor, I put more hours on it last summer pulling a hay ride wagon at a wedding than he has the whole time he has owned it. It just sits in his garage.

I think that is the customer it was marketed at....shame, if they marketed it at actual users of the machine I think they could have sold thousands of them.
