Here we go again...

How did I know that Builder would be here quickly to put the Duracrap on a pedestal and put down every other manufacturer. Give me a break already, it's all about personal preference and they all have their problems.

i don't think he was putting down the Cummins, just speaking truth. the 6.7 has been experiencing a good many problems due to the DPF crap. so has the 6.4. i've read this on several diesel forums. however, some people have done a DPF delete on their trucks and claimed the 6.7 to be a bad*** motor. GM has had the less trouble with the DPF it seems.

Just stating a fact. It's all over the internet. The 6.7L diesel is experiencing a lot of issues, most caused by a problematic DPF system. Read at nauseum here:

Sure, you can remove it to get rid of the problem, but then the truck won't pass a fed emissions inspection and subjects the owner to a huge fine for removing it. How smart is that?

BTW: Don't put words in my mouth. I don't put anything on a pedestal, except my family. I have no brand preference. I think they all pretty much suck. Some just suck worse than others.

I bet own more different manufacturers of tractors & trucks than you, so your opinions about me carry no validity.

For longeivity, and simplicity, The 12 valve 5.9 left big shoes to fill.

You ain't kiddin. Someday I'm gonna buy a nice old one to drive around.

Better hurry up, because good used ones alrerady don't grow on tree's. As a whole, I am very disappointed with the direction the big 3 and the feds are taking the diesel truck market. Yeah, 350 hp stock is cool, but 14mpg empty is'nt. I am already beginning to eyeball good used beds and cabs for my lb07, I don't need them yet, but I may have to keep it for 350,000 miles and 10 more years before detroit can get their $h!t together, IMO.

I would love to find another pre-DPF truck for my business.

The worst is yet to come DPF + UREA tank.

Amen Brother!

My 5.9 12 valve is turned up...way up, has dynoed at 540HP and over 1200 ft-lbs:D

It pulls so hard it scares me:eek:. The 5.9 is one He!! of an engine.

I frimly believe that the good old days of Diesels is now well behind us due to the emmission laws now imposed on us buy our "mother knows best" government.

I'm agnostic as far as which brand - though I stay domestic. And will never go back to gas - hopefully the 2500 (50K) will go as long as the F-350 (its over 220K). I am a little worried about the tranny on the Dodge though - have heard there are issues...

Those are a couple good looking trucks. What brand and size tires are on that Dodge?
