I have a Kubota B2320 and need a 3-point attachment tiller but I can't afford what Kubota or TSC wants new. I'm in central Indiana and I hope to find used tiller for $400, more if I absolutely have to. I'd like to buy ASAP. I filled out a "gray market" form on some site and am waiting to hear back but they did list prices for new yanmar tillers which are too high priced for me this year and I need a tiller this year. Can anyone help?

I have a disk and a tiller. The disk has not been hooked up since I got the tiller. But.......if your ground is not to hard and you have room to manuever and make multiple passes it will do a decent job of breaking up the top of the ground, maybe 3-4 inches. At least thats the way it worked on my dirt.
If its a big area that doesn't need much the disk is probably even better. But a smaller area that you want to work pretty thoroughly the tiller wins hands down.

Around here used tillers in good condition go for 700-900. have you consider renting one. Watch craigslist for used equiptment.

I know - I tried looking for a good, used tiller but around here, but there just weren't any to be had. I finally broke down & bought a new one at TSC.
At the time it was hard to justify the expense, but it has turned out to be an extreemly useful & productive purchase. Plus, if I ever want to sell it I know I can probably still get 85 cents on the dollar back.
As Alan L and Tritonman suggested - If you have enough room to swing a disk, that sounds like a good alternative.

I found a 60" used tiller last year for $500.
Just happened to stop by a small used-equipment dealer and asked if they had anything. The mechanic said they didn't have anything on the lot, but then the owner overheard and said he was thinking of selling his. Sent me up the road to their farmstead and told me to look at it in the shed. It was hooked to a tractor and looked like it had just been used. So I figured it was in running order.
I went back to the shop, and asked what he wanted and finally he decided $500 as he was thinking of getting one bigger because this one didn't cover the tire tracks of the tractor he was using.
I checked out the brand and decided that $500 was a reasonable price. Had to replace three knives (blades) and fix the chain-drive cover so it wouldn't leak chain oil.
So keep looking around, but figure I now have a tiller that is worth about $1000 on the used market, giving the good shape it is in.

I've been looking for a reasonably priced 60" tiller for nearly a year. Finally found one on Craigslist. It was a lightly used Kubota 60" for $1200. It wasn't any screaming bargain but not bad plus I was tired of the chase. Good luck on your hunt!
