Where do I find training for BX23 Back Hoe?

Thanks for the link to the Army Manual. I have found that the Army manuals usually do a good job of describing operation of equipment.

And, thanks to HomeBrew2 for the PDF link.

BTW, the Army does not call it a backhoe, they refer to it as a Hydraulic Excavator.

I do that all the time with mine. I think the BX23 is small enough to do that with compared to the case 580. When I am clearing with the toothbar, if I run into a root that gives my loader trouble, I just turn around and use the BH with the seat still facing front. It is much wuicker and I have never felt uneasy whiledoing it.

I have to admit that I move the backhoe (extend boom) from time to time to position it the way I want around a job (house, tree, rock) and I don't lower the stabilizers (B3030, BH75). But, I never dug without stabilizers. Usually, a backhoe is a very powerful tool and the weight of the tractor is never enough to use all the power available (unless you have a big TLB weighing around 19000lbs).
