I have a 38hp 1538 Mahindra. It's covered as long as I don't leave the property.

Same with ours, through Standard Mutual. No increase or rider, just part of the regular policy.

Thanks guys, so the grant is a California air resources board program. It is an incentive grant to get old non tier 4 final engines off the farm/earth. Look up carl moyer grant. In evert county they run it a little different but luckily im is a small tractor having market....they reimburse me 80 percent of the cost after i complete all the requirements. It is a like for like but can go up or down 25% in hp. They use a cost effectiveness calculator that determines your ranking and they give money form number 1 on down till the run out of money. San Diego has about 3 million to give.

Sounds like the old Obama Cash for Clunkers deal a few years ago.

Think have pointed out this varies between companies and between states as laws vary. But think what you are finding companies such as SF or Nationwide is doing is smaller tractors they can justify as a personal use machine. What they will not insure is a machine they know is being used for hire (therefore commercial) and also too large (they probably have a size by hp) telling it can not be considered personal use. Also on homeowners at least some will not suit a lender as often they do not insure by name and serial number unless there is an extra rider and thus extra cost. Again all of this varies between companies and with states and can vary with the same company in the same state for a variety of reasons. One area to be sure on any of this with a homeowner is the liability coverage. Good probability when they say only covered on your property their main concern is liability issue.

If you call your HO agent and they say we can not do it don't be offended for again so much of this varies sometimes greatly. I can well remember when State Farm would not insurance any Farm in our state (no idea if they do now or not) also had FB and they would not insure at the time me two tractors for they said one yes but no homeowner use can justify two so much be commercial.

I have everything covered as scheduled property by my Texas Farm Bureau Agvantage policy. The Boomer 8N is $90/yr for $25,000 in coverage and the TC40DA is covered for $62/yr for $17,500 in coverage. The Kubota ZTR is $52/yr. Trailers are $25/yr.

Insurance is good, your own Texas Ranger is better. I am also a member of the Texas And Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Membership is $100/yr. The TSCRA has 30 commissioned special Texas Rangers that only investigate crimes against members. The local Sheriff's Office will take an offense report for theft but not a lot of time is spent investigating. The Texas Ranger assigned to my county will investigate aggressively. They just busted a saddle theft ring in the next county and recovered 13 saddles.
