I have a 2014 model Nortrac 25XT (Foton Lovol TE254). It has been a good machine, though it only has 54 hours on it. My question is-where does the oil go in my injector pump. Every time I go to use the tractor I check the oil levels everywhere and the oil level on the injector pump dipstick is not visible and I have to add 4 or more ounces to get a reading. I have not noticed any oil leaks. Thanks for any advice.

I've never saw an injector pump with it's own oil supply.

I'd guess it's leaking at the shaft seal that the drive gear fastens to. Would end up in the engine crankcase I guess.

Thanks for the reply Richard. This tractor has a dipstick for the injector pump but no information about it except to tell you to check the oil level.

I have a Massey Ferguson 1030. It has a Toyosha Diesel engine. It has an injector pump with its own oil supply; but no dipstick. Now I am thinking I better take off the fill/inspection plate, and make sure it is full!

I think it's going into the fuel. It's a fuel pump. Usually the problem is the opposite -- the oil level is too high and the oil smells like diesel.

I, like you, would think if it has its own reservoir then the oil "should" remain in the inj. pump..
I've never had my hands on 1 so I cant comment "for sure"..
But I would think, like a million other pumps, that they have an oil seal in the front bearing plate for the drive shaft.??
And like a million other pumps, some are self contained & some just hold enough oil to keep the dr. shaft lubed & have holes above the front seal to allow the excess oil to dump into the crank case.. but THOSE are lubed by an engine fed oil line.
I HAVE SEEN where the brg. plate had been installed incorrectly & the holes were at the "bottom".. allowing the oil to dump into the c. case before ever reaching the level of dr. shaft..
IF your machine is under warranty?? get it checked out before it runs out.. You certainly don't want to be buying a pump do to lack of oil..

If it is going into the fuel is that bad. The tractor runs good with no smoking.

Thanks for the reply pumpguy. The tractor is out of warranty though it only has 62 hours on it. It runs fine and I have not noticed the crankcase oil level increasing at all so I guess I will just keep adding oil as necessary. It does not smoke either.

Don't know if it will help you, but here is a labelled pic of the injector pump on my Jinma 284. It does not have a dipstick. After draining the fluid from the 2 drain plugs, fluid is then added through the vent/fill cap. When the unit is full, it begins seeping out of the full level overflow if the black rubber cap is removed.

On my Foton with a Laidong KM385 engine, the pump is very similar like in the photo above. The difference is, I have one drain bolt on the lower part and a dip stick near the pivot of the lever below the fill/vent plug. I change the oil (15W40 diesel oil) twice a year due to fuel dilution and level increase.
Arecibo, your pump should be like mine. Also, the first time I pull the little dip stick, it is always dry, after the engine run and cooled down. Then I put it back and pull it again out, then the level shows.
Check often levels, the engine for oil becoming thinner if the fuel pump seal is leaking as you say.
No oil in the pump and too diluted engine oil is harmful obviously.
Good luck.
