Where have all the LX's gone?

Been trying to find a good used LX 4100/4500/4900 for several months with no luck. Searching for a buddy.....i have a 4900 and love it. I know theyre great machines and they didnt make very many....but everyone holding onto them?

I'm keeping mine, there's no Tier IV emission doo-dads on the LXes!

I did see one in Maine on craiglist last month but its gone.

How do you figure not many were made? They were sold for about 5 years that I recall, and longer for the shuttle shift model.

Well i say not many figuratively, as in comparison to comparable JD or Kub models being pumped out....prob a couple thousand in 5 years? I really have no idea....just find it amazing i cant find one on tractorhouse ebay CL etc. Must be that good! My buddy wants to buy mine, but i really dont want to sell it....
