Where IS everyone?

Busy, busy, busy! Yard work, Cub Scout activities, car show and drag racing season starting up, all this on top of the regular go to work routine and getting all the preliminaries done to start the new house, well you get the picture.
After pursuing some fruitless leads on some used tractors I'm currently getting quotes on a CK20HST. I've concluded based on my needs it's big enough. Used equipment is often not that much of a bargain. It's seldom exactly what you want and doesn't usually have a warranty. My wife wanted me to look into used to try to save bucks. The warranty and financing deals for the CK20HST helped to sway her and Kioti orange is almost certainly in the near future. By the way KJ, some of your reports of your uses of your CK20HST caused me to take another look, a closer look and decide it was enough for my intended use. I've got quote requests out now. More later.

Well, I've been irritating people on other boards, of course! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Last weekend I dug a shallow trench through an overgrown, logged off section of woods. It was about 40', and I had to push off some old felled trees with the FEL (cut them into 8' lengths first). The end of it went through a small stone row, and the LK3054 worked great for all of it. I'll have to wait for the next big rain to tell how it works.

Then I tried to remove an old rotten 12" stump from the area behind the barn where I want to park the tractor (and build the tractor shed). Problem is that it is about 20" dia below ground, with roots intertwined with the rock wall and the stones they used as fill. I broke a bunch of big roots, but it won't budge! I was cutting the roots with my old axe, but with the rocks, it was slow going. I had the 4" grinder at the ready so I ccould dress the axe every couple of minutes! I'll get it next time!

( KJ, I noticed the same thing. Days between new posts.
Maybe we all have our projects on hold awaiting the arrival of our f------ backhoes!!
I really miss my JD 1050! ) Now now Dave, it'll get here and you'll be so happy you won't even remember how bad it was waiting. Why, I'm almost over it now. I'll be posting some pics of what I did today. Tried to remove an old pine stump but got all the way to the BH limits and then had to cut off about 5 ft of the stump and leave the rest. The pics don't show how big it was, but below ground it was huge, and must have been way more below to still be that strong after my dig. ( We are busy selling those little orange Kioti critters and other hay related tools--I guess most consumers are busy using these new toys --Ken Sweet

Well guess I can put another loop in the noose for something to do. ) Pilonidal, how much longer before you get the CK20? Sounds like you'll have a lot of hours on it fast like I did when you finally get it. Keep your chin up, at least you don't have a Pilonidal Sinus! Cut those off and then through the rest of the body. Mine was about 4-5' down where I could do that. Sounds like the 3054 is doing you fine.

John, you crack me up sometimes. Right now I don't have the dough to buy a cardboard camera. Fixing up the hose is sucking up every available dollar and I don't want to buy cheap. Recently bought a new gated entry for the driveway, new commercial stove, fencing, tires for wife's car, reserved a cruise. You know how it is, you do things for the new owners that you never get around to doing for yourself. I would rather complain than actually buy a camera. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Buy the way, I hope the first paragraph was printed blue, if not I screwed up another thing.

Sorry to hear about your blade John. I know the feeling. I have broken two tines on my landscape rake backing into trees. There's a strange sensation in my gut now when I hear certain sounds! Love to hear from everyone, you don't have to own Kioti. Thanks

Well it's the price of owning ,I guess . The odd thing is that when I operated an old ford 3000,an Mf 135 and a Jd 450C for some one else nothing ever broke !!!!! Odd .!
And, even though I don't own a Kioti , I'm a fan of their machines . When they make a 30+ hp machine with HST , I'll be howling .(ck 35 ) John

One option is to use your regular camera. When you get the film developed, have it put on CD rather than prints. Almost as handy as a digital camera.
