Does anyone know how I might find the hydraulic fluid screen on an F14D? It's getting a bit noisy when I raise the 3ph so I think it's new fluid and filter time. The spin on Hydraulic filter is under the right hand foot plate if that is of any relevance. Can take pictures etc. if it would help.

I don't know about your model but my 4220D had a triangular shaped plate just below the PTO that covered the opening to the hydraulic screen. It also dumped all the hydraulic fluid thru that opening so you cant clean the screen without dumping all the fluid.
Look at your tractor and if that triangular plate is there, I would bet the strainer is behind it.

is it on the back of the tractor or is it on the side kind of behind one of the fenders? Just guessing here from other models. Its usually behind a 3-4 bolt cover plate.

Should look like the Triangle. This is a ym2000 so yours is prob. in a different location.

Thanks for all the replies. My set up doesn't look like the exploded diagram from Hoye. Maybe these machines had more than one layout. I think the link from Winston1 offers some clue. I think I'm supposed to undo the long pipe that runs back to the gearbox from the filter housing. Where it enters the gearbox it is bolted in with three bolts. Maybe the screen is behind there.

3 Bolt Triangle and your Hyd. Line. Should look like this.

HaHa ... looking back at my old post in 2004 it seems that I knew more back then than I do now. I forgot that the F14 had two possible styles. Wonder what else I forgot in the last 10 years? :)

the 'other' style below

Thanks Hoye, that is exactly how mine looks. I assume "21" is the screen? Am I likely to need to replace any O rings on reassembly or should it go bsck ok with no leaks?
