I noticed that thread was CLOSED. Why is that? I think it was a great thread that everyone should be interested in contributing. That is one reason I joined this forum - to find out about equipment quality.
We learned that Pat makes one very good devise and one that appears to be not so good. He makes the two to sell the "not so good" devise for $20 cheaper. I bet if most people knew the $20 less expensive devise was inferior to the "very good" devise that $20 savings would not be enough to persuade them to buy it.
However, I can see how the manufacturer could dupe buyers into thinking they were getting the "very good" devise on sale for $20 cheaper. The names are very similar and unless you saw the two side-by-side you probably wouldn't know they were different. See picture below. The devise on the left is "not so good" the one on the right is "very good".
Sounds like a very sneaky sales gimmick that was uncovered on this forum.
