My Branson 4220 i is about six months old. The first couple of months the fuel pumped clicked steadily when I switched on the ignition switch, and waited for the glow plug light to go out before starting. Then it quit doiung that after a couple of months, but the glow plug light came on and it started OK, and ran OK, so I kept using it. But yesterday, the morning was a lot cooler and it was sort of difficult to start, and chugged several seconds before smoothing out.
I checked the fuel pump by applying 12 VDC to it at the plug, and it worked just fine. I checked the fuse box, and the listed fuse for it appears OK. I disconnected each of 4 relays under the dash above my left foot, thinking bad connection, but no luck. Which is the fuel pump relay? Is it possible the glow plug light can come on, but not the glow plugs? Are the relays for the fuel pump and glow plugs one and the same?
I know its in warranty, but that is my last resort, as I have no trailer to haul it back to the dealer. They delivered it to me when I bought it, so it would be very difficult to take it back. Hopefully its something minor that I can fix myself. Perhaps someone here has the answer to which relay or what is the culprit. Or does the lack of hearing the fuel pump click at ignition switch turn on men anything at all?
Thanks in advance.
