BX25
I have a BX25 and would like to occasionally drag my parking area without removing the backhoe. I am using a home made I-beam drag to which I have welded chain hooks.

I would appreciate any suggestions on where to attach to the BX with the backhoe still on. Yes I could remove the backhoe and use the hitch but this is a really quick job to scarify the weeds. Thank you all for the input.

Does it have a fixed drawbar point? It should be on the tractor frame below the PTO stub. That would be the best hookup point if it is accessible. Otherwise find any low lying solid location.

I will crawl under there and see if the hitch behind the backhoe is accessible in any way... at first blush it appeared that I would have to attacht to the frame of the backhoe

Well- there is no easy answer for that. There is a seperate drawbar for traileer hookup but its waaaaayy under there past BH. Perhaps you could take hints from others. Once TBN'er welded hooks right on the BH sub frame in back for tiedown points. Anotheer TBN'er cut up a drawbar hitch and bolted right onto the step of BH.

Can you weld? maybe adding a clevis to BH frame for pulling would help?

I have a grab hook in the drawbar - since it sticks out a bit and swivels, it is pretty easy to access from the side of the back hoe. Use it frequently with my 4x8 chain harrow and when skidding logs

I have no problem accessing the drawbar with the BH on.

Just a thought. As long as you are leaving the backhoe on, why couldn't you just hook the chain on the center tooth on your backhoe bucket. The drag wouldn't be all that heavy so I think it would work just fine.

Thanks for all the input... I did not think that I could leave the draw bar on while the BH was installed so there you have it.... Looks like a very reasonable solution... thanks to alll... great forum
