Look at that bad mother fudger! Sir and fuel filters, plug, 18" bar and a non safety semi chisel chain. If it wouldn't leave me bloody, I'd try to take it to bed tonight!

I was really twitching to go buy an MS261 C-M to replace my 28 year old 026, but my father smacked me around a bit and might have knocked some sense into me

Instead, since I have a perfect running 026, I decided to treat it with a Forester tune up kit, new 18" bar, chain and file combo and also 2 more chains.

I also ordered a bar/chain combo and spare chain for a guy at work with a smaller Stihl.

This will buy me another 2 years, maybe 3 instead of paying $535 + 6% Pa sales tax on the new MS261 C-M (I get 10% off).

I'm still twitching a bit, just because I'm addicted to shiny new things!View attachment 546041

New saws are great, but why have two that are the same size? I'd keep the 026 and add a bigger saw if you don't already have one.

An 026 properly maintained will last a LONG, LONG time. So sense getting something newer just to get something newer. Good decision.

Buy one with a dirty carb from an idiot who knows nothing about engines that thinks it'll never run again

Or even with a dirty air filter - too many think if you can see light through it, all is good with the world - why doesn't the darn saw cut anymore it just lugs down and won't come up to speed - must be shot.

You can find good deal on ebay. I bought ten 36" Stihl chains for $70 - they had each been used until dull and just needed a good sharpening - otherwise they were like new. I guess some "pros" buy it by the roll and use it once and don't bother with sharpening them anymore. Must be nice to have more money than time - personally, I have little enough of either but I'll trade a few minutes for $30 in a second!

My helper bought a Chinese bar and chain... They were junk, they didn't last long at all...

Bar wear was excessive and the chain wouldn't stay sharp at all...junk...
