I also like TSC. Northern has a similar display by the pound.

Interesting. The local Northern has no such display, but I hope they get it:licking:
I was really disappointed with TSC removed all the metric fasteners they used to sell by the pound...with so many things having metric fasteners it really puzzled me:confused:

I'll guarantee the service I got wasn't even close to being as good as Home Depot. They not only did not have what I needed, but really didn't even want to talk to me. So I'm highly unlikely to ever go in one of their stores again; 3 times is my limit. But I'll take you word for it. If I were going to be a regular customer buying large quantities, I might consider using them.

I don't see this mentioned here but Fastenal Stores are "Franchised" .....service from one will not be like the other due to different owners of the franchise......I have about 6 of these stores within driving distance and they are different......

A neighbor was on a jobsite and bought a few hundred dollars worth of stuff from one that was further away than his normal Fastenal.....didn't end up using the stuff and went to return them back to his local store....they wouldn't take them back.....they said "You need to bring them back to the original store where you bought them"....which would only give them "Store Credit at the store where they were purchased"

My neighbor was not happy as they do buy alot from them......:(

As someone mentioned earlier, MSC is the way to go. Great service online, and fast shipping. Usually next day from any location they have and no extra charge. Open a account with them and they will send you a catalog, if you ask for it, also at n/c .great company.

I agree with TSC, I pick up a pound or two of mixed nut, bolts and washers everytime I go in. At $1.99 a pound you can't go wrong. Plus I like to shop all the other stuff. I'm sitting in my recliner right now wearing a TSC Black t shirt. With American Flag on it. $5 bucks. and American Made. Good Home Folks

Iv compared TSC, MSC, McMaster-Carr, and Fastenal. For buying an assortment of std sizes with limited #s each TSC wins. For buying anything you want in fairly limited quantities each and having it by UPS ground the next day McCarr wins. MSC sells larger minimum quantities. Fastenal also has min quantity lots, doesnt have everything and is more expensive. I would love to have one next door for the "special stuf" potential, but absent that I go straight to The McMaster website and have what I need at my door the next day.
