Where to buy shaft end seal for log splitter pump?

Thanks, unfortunately the side of the seal that would have markings got eaten up by the shaft key.

Some have a green or red coating on the metal also. I think C-R (SKF) calls it bore-tite

I was wondering about that, and want to take a closer look at the pump housing where the shaft pokes out to see how the seal is meant to sit in there and seal up against everything.

I know they are not near you but around here I would go to Hook Industrial Sales - they are a hydraulics repair shop that carry a lot of different seals. I know if they did not have it they could get it for me. You should have an industrial hydraulics shop somewhere near you that could do the same.

the other place would be Motion Industries - since you have all the dimensions they would be able to order it. they have a lot of sales offices around the US- not sure if they are in your area.

Go to Grainger Industrial Supply - MRO Products, Equipment & Tools and search for Rotary Shaft Seal. Go down the list and match up the seal type and dimensions. They carry metric and SAE. Beware of looking too much at their online catalog.........or have a mop handy to clean up the drool puddle.

So turns out this seal is a bit unique and none of the usual supply houses had it listed in their online searches. Only one I found with all three correct dimensions was this one:

Shaft Oil Seal

The inch dimensions are within 0.001" of what I measured and the mm dimensions match the specs I found on the website for the pump manufacturer. This one is a different material, but should still be fine for this application.

Amazingly, it's available on Amazon for $1.80 each. I ordered 3 of them to offset the $4.50 shipping cost and that will give me a couple spares to have on hand.
