Where to buy wood pellets?

Wood pellets are about as scarce as hen's teeth this time of year, just cant find any in the N. Va area. One place is supposed to get a shipment in next month, but not sure when. Anyone in the area have any ideas? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I can't help you finding wood pellets. But I can tell you how to avoid this problem next year. At the end of the heating season buy up all the pellets that you can find for next year.

Yeah, no kidding. I bought a ton, and had about 20 bags left over from last year. Thought that'd be enough, but it wasnt. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Found some at Wal-Mart - Manager tried to talk me into buying 50 bags because it was an item that they did not normally stock and came at the end of the season. Their price was 1.25 a bag cheaper than the farm store where i had bought my last 14 bags. I have a corn stove and only use the wood pellets to start the burn process.

I was supprise to see Pallet after Pallet loads at lowes the other days. Usually this time of year its very hard to find. Normally only TSC has them in the fall.

Gulp, we are up to 9 tons so far this year, total for the year will probably be 11-12..

I generally buy at walmart, feed store & sam's club whenever I see them.

It's a supply/freight/market issue. I suspect the folks that ordered them last summer didn't expect the demand and now is too late to order for this season. Money was lost by the retailers this time and next season will be different. It's not like we ran out of sawdust. We have them coming out of our ears here in the NW for the same 3$ a bag as always. They're everywhere.

I would be happy to haul 2 tons to anyone who needs it for the right price. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
