After many hours of thought and research, found the perfect place to put a piece of Schedule 40 PVC with a cap on the bottom. Piece is 24" long and the ties are temp, going to get large hose clamps. No drilling into the Rops.

May put another on the other side for ????????

Right on!! I have put PVC holders of similar construction into the rear of my tractor.... attached to a small platform on the rear... there is an extra bolt hole there. Also, there are holes in the FEL and all of them have PVC pipes in them with chains in them... can't have too many chains...

Yep, you will soon put one on the other side... handy to have.

PVC is great stuff. Here's a couple on mine, the chain box is a piece of leftover railing post I have one on both sides next to it is my fire extinguisher holder

the second is a 5' piece of 4" run thru the loader brace this holds a 60" prybar & chain

I've seen more plumbing in this thread then they have at Home Depot!

I like the one thru the loader brace to hold a pry bar. That was pretty creative.

How do you attach the bottom (for lack of better word:plug/cap). Did you glue it with PVC cement?

Anybody had any ideas on where to mount a small toolbox? I was thinking that that would be a great addition to my L3400, as I was carrying a pair of channel locks in my cup holder!

I also need to come up with a spot for my gloves. I usually have pine pitch, mud, grease, etc on my hands & I always take them off before getting back on the seat.

Great ideas guys... Keep them up!

I use a rubber strap to keep the basic's (channel locks, hammer, and drift to remove bucket pins) on the ROPS. Lokkat my pics. Drill a small hole in the cap so water can drain out.

Man, you guys have some neat and clean methods to carry your chains and tools. I built an "open" tool box out of wood to carry my chains and some tools. It's not as pretty but still handy to get in and out of.

For a small handy external tool/parts box I went to the grocery store. I purchased a small rectangular metal baking pan... On my tractor the rear hydraulic couplers are bolted underneath a support... I drilled a couple of holes and bolted the baking pan on top of the support with the couplers in their original position below the support.

The pan will not rust. It provides a handy place to put lynch pins, bolts, cotter pins, etc. the sides are about 4 inchs high... so far nothing has bounced out... This may or may not work for your tractor.

I drilled a 1/2" hole in the center for drainage put it in place drilled & pop riveted the four sides.
I never thought to glue it, I have a life long habit that applies to almost everything I do "What if I have to take it apart?" so I always leave myself even though it doesn't always make sense.
