Where to get better price on hydro oil

I'm coming up on 600 hours and need to change the hydro oil and filters again. I did this about 3 years ago and the hydro oil at the dealer was about $35 for a 5gal can. Now it's over $50 for a 5gal can! Do all of you always get hydro oil from the dealer or do you get it somewhere else? Would TSC have the right oil for this? Do I have to get a certain kind, or will just any generic hydraulic oil work? Thanks.

My DX29 calls for Case spec MS1209 which is HyTran Ultra. I found one type of oil at TSC that mentioned that spec, and it was $10 per gallon. NH uses a different number, but the way I see it, it must be the same oil.

I think most guys here figure that high cost for something changed so seldom is just something to live with as opposed to screwing up the hydraulic system seals or O-rings with some other oil just to save $10 or $20 on an oil change. How many hours do you use the tractor per year? Break it down to cost difference per hour then compare it to repairing or replacing all the seals and O-rings and you'll see what I mean.

I'd expect that if you use plain hydraulic fluid in place of a UTF fluid, that you will blow up or hose the drive train on your tractor. Find a generic UTF fluid that meets the spec your tractors book mentions. If it is a M2C134D spec.. then the UTF at tractor supply, or wallmart / sams will work.. etc.
